I’m going to retreat in India this winter at a beautiful spot right where the Ganga River spills out of the Himalayan foothills. It's called Lashman Jhula, very near Rishikesh. Would you like to come? I’ll be there between about February 11th and March 16th, but you can come for as much or little as you like.

The world and our lives are poised at the brink of change and transformation. Let’s get together and support each other in recharging our batteries, getting free from our old limitations, and knowing our essential being more deeply.

I believe this a good place for us to convene, be together, and yet have our own freedom and our own experience. I will be having some “satsang” programs, available to help anyone realize their essential Being, understand Indian thought and culture, or with whatever else comes up. If we can drum up some musicians, we can do some spiritual singing as well. (Hey musicians, love to have you join us)

There are some fine spiritual beings who will also offering teachings and programs during this time as well.

Prem Baba, a Brazillian master, will be there until March 1
st. His website is

He is a wise man and their music is Amazing!

Shantimayi is a master of the same lineage. She will be there until mid-March probably.

She teaches the same truths approached from a different angle. Shantimayi has been incorporating more shamanic influences with her eastern ways.

Hatha Yoga classes and instruction is everywhere from teachers well known and unknown.

There is also a number of Ayurvedic doctors and institutes offering treatment and Panchakarma purifications. Indian Music and Dance instruction is available locally as well.

Inexpensive rafting on the Ganga is great, and there are hiking trails through the jungle to temples on mountain tops.

I could set up this retreat as a business and make up my expenses in-between retreat costs and actual cheap Indian prices. I want you to have maximum freedom however and I’d like people to use this opportunity to co-create any number of ways we can reinforce each other’s well being. I’m going to be providing coordination and information to anyone who would like to come. If it turns out I’ve helped you on some level, I’m open for donations. We all have different financial situations though so remember, it’s much more important to just come if you feel the time is right for you.

Maya and I got tickets from San Francisco via a
www.travelocity.com search on Asiana Airlines to New Delhi for under $1200 inclusive round trip. That’s not bad! The next cheapest airfares seem to come up at about $1250 round trip from LA/SFO using British Air on www.kayak.com. As peak oil approaches, we may not be able to go to India as cheaply as this for long. Fly to Delhi, the airport code is DEL.

Once you are in India, you can take a combination of Taxi, Bus, and/or Train to Lakshman Jhula. If India is a little new or you’d like avoid a mind-numbing hassle to begin with. You can get a 6-7 hour taxi right from the airport to Lakshman Jhula for about $50 including tipping the driver!

We plan on negotiating a discount on hotel rooms. I’d expect to pay about $5 per night for a room with some plus and minus points. (just because there is hot water, a western toilet, and marble floors, and even a phone and/or TV, doesn’t mean it’s like a western hotel room, maid service is sporadic and the rooms can be smallish.) Sharing a room might cost you $3 per night each. Or find your own special place nearby and we can connect as community as you see fit.

There are many awesome restaurants in town that cater to pilgrims and western tourists. It’s easy to eat really nicely on less than $10 per day and, if you’re on a long trip or pinching pennies, really easy to get a big safe dinner for a buck.

Sadly, the Indians in these pilgrimage/holy sites are not yet used to the ease with which Western women show scandalous parts of their bodies like bare shoulders, and misunderstand hugging between the sexes. I’m asking that in public, we try to preserve the welcome we have in this place by having cultural sensitivity on these points. Even dipping in the river near the Indians demands a certain modesty.

Drop me an email if you are interested, have questions, or need help getting started. Let’s take the time to prepare for new times by finding our center, opening our hearts, and charging up our inner resources.

Much Love

Baba
